Alana Flood’s S/S 16 Science of Colour collection explores the hybrid intersection between designer and colourist. Inspired by the scientific working methods of colour theorist Josef Albers, this collection exposes how colours can be uniquely layered, deepened and juxtaposed. Each look explores an exercise plate from Albers workings in his book, ‘Interaction of Colour,’ 1963. Every colour has been developed and refined by Alana Flood, with garment, body and movement in mind, whereby the garments evoke a sense of delicate sculpture and ethereal colour.
